I was a nordic skier and distance runner through high school in Minneapolis, and attempted to ski race in college while attending Montana State University in Bozeman. Learning quickly that a nordic career was not in the cards both competitively and financially, I joined the the MSU Triathlon club for a new competitive outlet. I immediately got hooked and set about training and learning and racing as much as my budget would allow. Unfortunately, Bozeman was not an ideal place to train, and driving 8-17 hours one way to get to every race got a little old after the 4th year. In mid-October I moved to Boulder hoping to find a community that actually supports triathletes and have a consistent group to train with for the first time ever. Currently I am embracing both sides of my sport passions, working full time at Boulder Nordic Sport and coaching with the Boulder Nordic Junior Racing Team, and racing as a triathlete.
