  • Describe a little bit about yourself and your interest in triathlon

I am a life long athlete. I ran cross country and track in high school and also was a wrestler. I am actually built more like a wrestler than an endurance athlete. I love the idea of being able to race on the same course as the pros. I got my start in Triathlon after a weight lifting injury. I ended up gaining about 30 pounds and needed to do something to lose the weight. I discovered Triathlon in 1999 at the age of 35 and have never looked back. Triathlon is now a lifestyle for me. I am blessed to have been able to compete in the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in 2012.
