Describe a little bit about yourself and your interest in triathlon
Competitive swimmer in high school, body builder thru my 20's, Triathlon, running and cycling thru my 30's, 40's and 50's. Age 57 working on finishing my first IRONMAN. First attempt 2018 Chattanooga, unfortunately the swim was canceled that year due to river flooding. I completed the bike and run. 2019 Chattanooga was 100 degrees, I finished the swim, the bike and half of the marathon. 2020 Chattanooga was canceled for COVID. 2021 I got COVD 1 month before race day so I deferred to 2022. So, I'm now on my 5th attempt in 4 years at the same race, needless to say I am hell bent and determined to finish this race. 2022 got off to a rough start, I had emergency surgery January 2 to remove infected intestine, surgery went well and I am recovering nicely, just another hurdle! For the first time I am using a training plan and technology I've never used previously. I have a wahoo Kickr, Garmin watch, Strava, training peaks and D#3 multisport for guidance and support. I'm also buying a new bike! Needless to say I am obsessed with Finishing Chattanooga IRONMAN!
